The 3rd Annual Dixie Film Festival breezed through Atlanta October 13-15 for a weekend run of almost 40 films, and over a dozen filmmakers in attendance to promote their films before the Atlanta Film Community.
Director Ziggy Attias' film "Father Unblinking" walked away with two awards including BEST SHORT FILM & OUTSTANDING ACTOR IN A FILM for James Vidos.
Georgia Filmmaker Ly Bolia and writer Adam Boyer won the "Mason-Dixon" Award for "Outstanding Georgia Filmmaker" for their short BLAME FALLS.
Los Angeles Writer/Actor Gary Weeks (Georgia raised) made his Atlanta Premeire of his new film "29 Reasons To Run" to a sold out crowd at the Dixie Film Fest on Sat. Oct. 14th and followed up with a great Q&A with fellow actors.
Legendary Actor/Director JAMES BEST (Dukes of Hazzard's Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane) received "The Magnolia Award" for Lifetime Achievement In Filmmaking on Friday Night at our opening gala, and was followed by the World Premiere of his new short film, "Hellbent For Good Times."
Most notable was a film making its Southern Premiere: Director Michael Damian's "HOT TAMALE," starring Carmen Electra, Jason Priestley, Randy Spelling, Doira Baird, Richard Riehle and James Best.

won Best Comedy and had Director/Producer/Writing team Michael & Janeen Damian in attendance to promote their film and honor Janeen's father James Best with his award.
